What are the possible reasons for causing feed pellet die (ring die) hole blockage & stuck ?

1. For the new feed pellet die, the pellet mill operator should flush the ring die firstly with high protein material, by adding oil or mix with emery or small size sand. 
2. Check the roller shell, if it is worn out or damage.
3. Check the gap between the roller & the feed pellet ring die, it can not be too small or too large. (0.1~0.3mm is suitable, for high fiber material, gap can reach up to 0.5mm)
4. Check the MC of the material, it can not be too high or too low.
5. Pay attention on the material conditioning process and control the steam inlet pressure & conditioning time. (0.2~0.4Mpa is suitable).
The three most ideal production conditions in the feed pellet production process are:

  • Suitable moisture content of the raw material;
  • Good quality steam;
  • Sufficient conditioning time;
6. Once the pellet machine stop, the operator should clean out the residue material in the pellet mill pressing chamber, in case it is blocked after cool down, leading to pellet die blockage when the machine restart.
